    Our Insights:

See our insights (based on our own experience after purchasing and using the product, or based on some research work) on Blake Pierce The Perfect Block (A Jessie Hunt Psychological Suspense Thriller Book Two), these might be useful for better understanding.

Jessie is growing on me. She really is a combination of naive and very intuitive. Now that we are committed to reading the whole series, we would suggest reading these books in order. They do not end in cliffhangers, but the next book is set up well enough to whet your appetite for more. In book two, jessie has been hired as a consultant by the lapd, and is working with detective ryan hernandez, a character we met in book one. She is trying to help them figure out a who-done-it of a high society wife. At the same time, jessie is suffering from night terrors from her childhood trauma, and she is trying to decide whether to go to quantico to take the fbi s profiler program. Her life is a mess and communicating with a serial killer, bolton crutchfield, who is locked up tight in a special place, nrd, is not helping her peace of mind. Crutchfield knows everything that happens to and around her. How? he has no visitors, no phone access, no internet. We are hooked and ready for book 3.

So far we have read “the perfect wife”, the perfect block” and am now starting the perfect house”. This book is a roller coaster ride. You get hooked quickly and want to just keep on reading. Very fast paced and exciting. We just saw another was added “the perfect smile”. We really love these books and if you like psychological suspense thrillers, do yourself a favor and read this series by blake pierce. A+.

Looks like we will be reading blake pierce’s next few books to find out what happens to jessie hunt and her quest to find her father. The way this author writes grabs your attention and keeps you wanting more. A perfect 5 stars.

This is the second in the series and it is even better than the first. We learn so much more about jessie’s childhood and insights into who she is. Plus there’s a great murder for her to profile. So many great characters that are well developed and real. Twists and turns and lots of suspense. A must read.

Just a great cat and mouse game, with characters that are developing as you go. Cannot wait for the next in the series.

Even though the first book took us awhile to get really into reading it, the second was a no brainer. We are really liking reading about jessie hunt the in training profiler. We are really hoping something will become of her friendship with ryan hernandez, her friend and in training partner, in that he recommended and helped her get the job with the lapd as the junior profiler and still seems like they are close like partners, not yet romantic but partners none the less. We would suggest reading these books in order. Her life is still being controlled by bolton crutchfield from the facility and the cliff hanger is really awesome. We will start reading the next story as soon as we finish this review and do some chores we have put off so that we can read this story. We are liking how the relationships seem to intersect. Their is of course jessie and ryan and then there is kat from the nrdh facility and then their is her adoptive parents and of course bolton crutchfield her tie to her real father. We are glad that she is finally gotten ready to go the fbwe training at the acadeour. On to book three.

We read book 1, as well. Jesse is a good character. The suspense is great. The characters are also really well drawn. We are giving four stars, rather than five, for two reasons. The use of an inhaler for peanut allergy. You would use an epwe pen. An inhaler wouldn’t help. And we were a little annoyed at the cliffhanger ending. All in all, though, good series.

What drove us crazy about this 2nd book is that crutchfield, being in a high security isolated cell, multiple safeguards, with no outside unauthorized communication, video cameras recording his every move and word, and only taken to the shower with supervision for 30 minutes, he somehow knows jessie s every move, even when she is 15 minutes late for an appointment. How is this possible? while jessie is driven to examine every little detail regarding evidence in a case, goes to great lengths to analyze her new case, takes extreme precautions when moving into a new apartment—to the extent that she gets a po box with a courier delivering her mail to the lapd precinct office, yet she doesn t make any concerted effort to find out how crutchfield is following her every move. He obviously has inside help, and there are only a few guards that interact with crutchfield, but she doesn t make any attempt to examine and figure out who is giving him the information, or even discuss it with kat, the head of security at the prison? her very life depends on figuring that out due to the fact that her serial killer father is hunting her and crutchfield knows information to help her find him first. She is more concerned about her case than finding the leak, so much so that it doesn t even cross her mind to wonder or question who the leak is?this really bothers us due to the fact that the author tries to make jessie seem like such an intelligent analytical profiler, (even though she s still a rookie) yet she doesn t bother to even analyze, worry about, even obsess about how someone is dangerously watching her every move and using the information to threaten and harm her and those close to her. We have our own ideas about who the leak is but we are assuming that the author is saving that thread for one of the future books, but it is a flaw in this book. Other than that, it s an enjoyable thriller.

Jesse is a serial killer magnet. Her father was a serial killer, her husband was on his way to being one before she put the pieces together and she is being used to get the enigmatic crutchfield to talk for authorities. After surviving her husband’s plans to add her and two neighbors to his kill list, jessie is living with her friend and healing. Her detective friend ryan has engineered her an interim profiler position with the lapd. It was mostly grunge work tidying up the records of her predecessor until she is called to the scene of a murder and quickly comes up with the motive and they quickly close the case. Then she is called to the home of a wealthy woman who has died of insulin poisoning under suspicious circumstances. Jessie knows that her father visited crutchfield and left her a message: he’s coming for her. Jessie is a fascinating character. She is too trusting despite her damage and has a rainman sort of ability to determine whether words or situations feel wrong. She decides to defer the fbwe program to finish her divorce, sell the house and find another place to live. The case and crutchfield come together in chilling ways. Is it better to be smart or lucky? what if that luck runs out?.

As a follow on to the first installment of “a perfect wife” we again see jessie not learn a thing from all her terrifying experiences. If anyone else were to be so strident as to ignore previous lessons learned in this literary world they would most certainly dead. But stubborn is one of the hardest personality traits to overcome. As in the previous volume, jessie barely escapes death. She does survive but, alas, we fear, without sufficient wisdom to avoid another life attempt. Just as in ” a perfect wife” jessie improves in her chosen vocation and the telling makes for high tension fraught with foolish maneuvers on her part which keeps the story moving and the twists popping and the wonder of when will she learn in the fore of the story. One can only hope her character soon learns to mature as she lives her life working her cases and growing in character and wisdom.

Jessie is moving on with her life after recovering from the attack by her murderous ex-husband. Accepting a temporary profiling position, she throws herself into investigating the case. This is a continuation of jessie’s story but could be still be enjoyed without book one. We suggest reading book one to get jessie’s full backstory & her personal involvement with several serial killers. However, a good proofreader would have improved the reading experience. The book ends rather abruptly, with a set-up to read book three.

We have read every book blake pierce has written, but this is the best series by far. As a psychiatric registered nurse, we appreciate the profiling aspect in solving the cases.

The second book in this series revolves around the convicted serial killer, who teases the lapd junior profiler with riddles. Fully monitored in every way a prisoner can be monitored, the serial killer still seems to have the abilities to get and give orders from his prison cell. This story has clues that the reader must be alert to if they wish to guess the ending before the writer get to the ending.

Mr . Pierce is a master weaver of ourstery, suspense and intrigue. He manages to tag the end of each chapter with a thought or sentence which draws one to the next chapter, not wanting to stop. The ending, you will see, was one not easily imagined until very late. Can’t wait for a new offering. We would love to share a glass of wine with him, just to see how his highly developed brain operates.

We enjoyed this book. We red the reviews and some saw it as a poorly written book and didn’t care for the character. This was different fro blake pierces previous books. She s a whole different character and just starting to find herself. We plan to read more in the series to watch the growth of he character develope. It was fast reading and we really didn’t see the true killer until the end.

We were happy to find another book on sale by this author. We read this in one sitting. It holds the attention, but we feel like it lacked a good healthy punch into your face moment. Sure things happen to jessie, but they could have turned out far worse. We feel the author played it safe. Don’t get us wrong, the book is very good and will pull you in. You may read it in one sitting too.

We loved the book,we had read the perfect wife, and this book followed it very nicely, very hard to put down. We can hardly wait to read the next 2 in this series, the perfect house and the perfect smile . ,we are sure they will not disappoint me,we believe you have gained a new fan,we joined your mailing list would love to know the other books you have written.

Being as this is book two of the jessie hunt psychological thrillers. We are just so happy that it continues to meet our expectations. A true page turner. It keeps our interest and when we finish the book we are already wanting the next book in line. Every book we have read of mr blake pierce are exceptional. He has the gift of writing and we are so happy we found him. He is as good as any other writer we have read. Honestly we can t think of anything we didn’t like. We would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys thrillers or ourstery type books to read. We wish we could give it an even higher rating, we sure would.

This book was very intriguing and kept our interest throughout. We understand that the ending leaves space for the next book in the series, but how many books do you have to read before there is any real closure for the main character? we still recommend this author and ba e read many of his books. We recommend you read them, too.

A very good read if you like psychological stories. Many twists and turns as this new profiler at the lapd. Works on her first case all while looking for her serial killer farther. She makes some mistakes while investigating the case. In the end she is still looking for her father while she is heading to profiler training at the fbi.
