Can We Use Boiling Water? What Water Temperature Range Allows It To Work Best?
Absolutely not. You just use room temp water. You can use cool water from the tap, but we would highly recommend distilled water (88 cents a gallon at Walmart). Keep it at room temperature then add to your diffuser as needed.
See our insights (based on our own experience after purchasing and using the product, or based on some research work) on InnoGear Essential Oil Diffuser, these might be useful for better understanding.
We bought this because we had a really bad cold and was having a lot of trouble sleeping. So much trouble in fact that we broke down the day after ordered it and bought the similarly priced sunbeam filter free warm mist humidifier from walmart to get us through. We regretted it. The sunbean was bulky, hard to fill and leaked water during refilling plus it lasted only about 6 hours despite a big reservoir. Disappointed we waited eagerly for this innogear to arrive. When we checked the mail yesterday all that was waiting was a small box. We had no idea this humidifier was so tiny. We thought “there is no way that this thing will produce continuous mist for 9 or more hours” especially after our two days with the sunbeam. So we plugged it in and boom. Small and compact yes but mist you can see, cool to the touch and yes: it lasts for 9 hours on a ridiculously small amount of water. Well played innogear.
Very disappointed. It worked great and we really liked it in the beginning, but it no longer works properly. We use it almost every night on the continuous setting and we clean it weekly. The motor is very loud and it is not diffusing correctly. We purchased it less than 3 months ago. ***update: customer service contacted us almost immediately after our above review and sent us a new one within days. The new one is still working well. Their customer service dept has been great and above average. The new one came with some warrantee info, so if this one poops out, we can contact them directly. This info was not included in our first one we received.
We originally bought this as a present for our fiancee, but have since grown to appreciate it almost as much as she does. The ability to gently waft a natural oil based fragrance of your choosing into the air at a moment’s notice is a huge benefit in all kinds of situations. Can’t sleep? turn this guy on and drift away on a cushion of lavender mist. Company coming over? fill your entertaining space with a subtle bouquet of orange zest. Cat just make a huge deposit into the litter box? lemon and peppermint that reek into submission. The build quality is excellent, with a simple and unobtrusive design that does its job for a long time without refilling. The variable color function isn’t really for us, but would be right at home in a hippie den or casual tuesday night seance. The only detriment to the design is a very prominent operation light that lets you know, whether you like it or not, that the diffuser is still in fact working. This gets really old, really quickly if you want to use the diffuser at night and have trouble sleeping in a spotlight. A quick bit of disassembly and simple application of pliers to the offending led solved this problem, and now we couldn’t be happier.
So our roommate is allergic to every air freshener on this planet, but we needed a solution to the “smell” in our apartment. That’s when we got this. It’s a gift from god himself. This diffuser is amazing. Easy to control color/water output, small and compact, easy to clean, and outright beautiful. It’s great for our apartment; we can finally cover up the totally-not-pot smell that the previous tenant so graciously left me. It’s also great for setting up a romantic environment when the significant other comes over. As for people’s complaints of it not working, we really recommend contacting the company before you leave a bad review. They seem pretty responsive to me. Just a head’s up — if you have a dog, try not to diffuse tea tree oil, or do it in a place where the dog doesn’t go. It’s bad for their nervous system. We think it’s the same with cats as well, but we are not sure.
Revised: after having the below issue with our diffuser we were quickly contacted by the seller. They gave a possible fix for it as well as offering to replace the diffuser. We received the new diffuser very quickly and they also followed up to make sure it was working properly. They were fantastic to work with. We have had this for a little over a year. It is used in our son s room mainly when he has a cold so it is used occasionally, not daily. It worked great until last night. Our son has a cold and we added our water and oil to help his stuffy nose. Went to turn it on and it doesn t work. Right now it s only use could be as a nightlight. So disappointed it stopped working since it wasn t used that much. Before last night we would have given it 5 stars.
This is the first diffuser we have purchased after considering doing so for quite awhile. We opened it as soon as it arrived, set it up, added water and a few drops of essential oils and turned it on. Wow. It started diffusing immediately and we are not talking lightly either. The mist is very fine but it diffuses a lot of it and fills the room with the nice scent almost immediately. Since our condo is rather small, we set it for intermittent use that diffuses for 30 seconds and then shuts off for 30 seconds. We will attach a video below so you can see how much it mists. It s nice and quiet but since there are several reviews about the lights (even just the on light) being too bright at night, it s unlikely that we will use it in the bedroom as we also like a dark room for sleeping. If we find we like diffusing oils, we may look for another type for the bedroom. Since we have only been using this today, we can t comment on how it holds up over time but we will come back and post an update later if we begin to notice diminishing operation and especially if it stops working. We like the smaller size so it will fit anywhere but did not like that you have to unplug it to turn it off. It should have an off switch. Overall, we are very pleased with this. It was a great price and a nice way to test if this is something we will enjoy continuing. Even if we decide it s not something we wish to use every day, we are looking forward to diffusing some nice holiday scents around christmas. If any part of this review was helpful to you, please press the “yes” button below.
We have 2 of these. One we have had for more than 6 months with no issues. The other started to leak profusely after about 45 days; 15 days after the return window ended for returns. ****update****after writing this review, the manufacturer contacted us directly about the diffuser. After asking some questions about what was broken (and ruling out user error) they sent us a new diffuser free of cost. The new one works perfectly so far. The company was very easy to communicate with once the contacted me. They were quick to answer our questions and help out any way they could. Because of the great customer service, we are changing our review from 3 to 4 stars. We have attached a video that shows where our diffuser was leaking. If yours is the same, please attempt to contact the manufacturer directly. They will most definitely rectify the situation.
We love our oil diffuser. ?? this minwe lamp oil diffuser hits more than just one of our senses. ? life is gets very busy. & even crazy (as an atypical family) and in order for our family and we to function, we need balance. ? aromatically, it provides calming, cooling, & collecting thoughts, as the visual of the soft glowing light help keep our mind relax & it’s not stimulating to our brain. The dome lid has a frosted finish which is easy on the eyes. Also, easing to our worries is the self timing sensor that turns off the diffuser when it’s out of liquid. ??another cool feature is the color choices you have. You can select one color or have it rotate the colors. With other oil diffusers (different brand) we have in the house, once we turn it on, it stays on until we turn it off &/or runs out of liquid. The innogear diffuser pumps, diffuses, & distributes the oils in sessions. In other words, while it’s still on it diffuses the oil for a few seconds then stops, while the softness of the light continues to glow and keeps you relaxed. Considering the cost of other brands that go up to 60 to 80 dollars, this gizmo has all the bells and whistles without the cost of other name brands. All in all, it’sthe best diffuser we have in our home. Oh, it stands about 6 inches in height and easy to clean with vinegar and water. ??.
This diffuser is the first that we have purchased. We wanted a relatively compact diffuser that had a modest design and some sort of light function for a decent price. This one fits the bill perfectly. The build quality is great and the buttons are responsive. Press once (green light) for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off, for 3 hours, or press again (red light) for constant on for 3 hours. If we want it on for less time we will turn it on and off manually. The lights are really nice and provide good ambience and visibility at night in the bathroom. We like how each color has a dim and bright setting. The water lasts a few days with intermittent use and we refill the oil about half as many times as we refill the water (1-2 times a week). We are learning that a smaller reservoir leads to more concentrated and therefore potent diffusing of oils, despite running out of water sooner than a diffuser with a larger reservoir.
First time diffuser user but we know aromatherapy works. We had been using candles and pillow / linen spray to help us sleep better due to chronic pain. Spray only last a short duration and we are worry to leave the candle burning while sleeping. We read the review and this seem like what we need to get the aromatherapy during the night without the risk of burning down our home. We like the colors changing feature too. It is soothing to look at and double as night light for us. We used the intermittent setting so it would last longer. Easy to operate, essential oils not included but there are ton of choices out there.
This is just ok to me. The reason why we are saying this because it is hard to access it to remove the cover (we have rheumatoid arthritis). Definitely do not take the cover off while running (we made that mistake lol ??). The pictures show the colors which it alternates to every couple of seconds (we think we might have missed pink. Sorry ??. We prefer having it off because we don’t really care for the changing colors). This diffuser does a pretty good job with the scent it gives off. It gives off a light mist which diffuses the scent of whatever you’re using permeates the air. We live in a apartment building where others smoke up our place. We cannot handle it because it gives us migraines. This works well to mask the smell for us. We only use filtered/bottled water when using this. We know all the minerals can clog up the parts. Also, it only holds up to 100ml (there’s a marker on the side that indicates where to stop). This only lets it go for about 6 hours, then it turns itself off. We would like to run mine 24/7 (yes they smoke all night too). *if this review helps you please press the “helpful” button below. We do not get any free or discounted prices. We just like to know that we have helped our fellow women and men. Thanks.
This diffuser has a lot of reviews already but we though we would add mine in case it helps someone. We love this diffuser. We have two others. One is too big, the other is too small. This is a perfect size. It’s super easy to fill. You can hold it under the sink or use the little container it comes with to fill. We also like that the cord fits snuggle underneath so we don’t have to worry about it tilting. There is a little grove for the plug and a little area for the cord to slide in so it is completely flat. The oil we used was from bargzoils. Together it created a wonderful experience. At first you run it with out the oil. Our cat loved watching the mist. Then we put the oil in. It was so nice. The best part, since we are crazy about color changing lights, was the beautiful light it gives off. The changing pattern is perfect and it can also be set to a single color, or no color at all. It can be set to mist coninuoulsy or 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off. It also shuts off automatically. The buttons are on the front and easy to read and access. It uses pure oil so it’s perfect.[update]. We still agree with the review that we wrote below, however, we are very impressed by the customer service we received regarding this product. We had contacted the company regarding the fact that the mist didn’t seem to go very far, and sent them a video of the mist pattern. They responded saying that the situation is normal but that if we are not satisfied they would be happy to send us their 300 ml aroma diffuser to try. We did not at first realize that they meant to send it to us for free, but after we wrote our review we were contacted again by the company asking if we would like to receive the other diffuser for free. We received it within we think two days, and am much more impressed. It quickly diffuses throughout an entire large room (even with windows open), and also has improvements on the other two features that we mentioned in our review of the 100 ml diffuser. Specifically, if you don’t use the mood lights (which are fun for a little while), the remaining light is very dim and not at all disruptive to our sleep. Also, the cord detaches easily from the body of the diffuser so it doesn’t have to be unplugged from the wall when you want to refill. It still attaches on the bottom of the unit, so it’s not the most easy design when the diffuser is full of water, but it’s a big improvement and we are sure we will quickly get used to it. We definitely recommend the 300 ml version and am very impressed with the customer service of the company. This would be a five star review if it was about the 300 ml version and not technically concerning the 100 ml version which we believe is lacking in the areas we mentioned. [original review]we think probably with diffusers you get what you pay for. The stream of visible vapor doesn’t seem to go very far and much of it appears to land on the table within 18 inches or so. That said, it works nicely right beside our bed. We wish the green light associated with intermittent vapor wasn’t so bright; we have to put it on continuous vapor just because the dimmer red light doesn’t interfere with our sleep. We also wish there was a way to disconnect the cord right at the base of the unit, rather than having to unplug it from the wall behind our bedstand every time we go to the sink to fill it up. We don’t use this all the time, and only next to the bed, so it meets our needs, but if you want something that’s going to diffuse through a whole room there are probably better units.
Steamer and oils at 30% off. We want another set to give as gift. Good buy even if not on sale. Scent is subtle mixed with water but the energy in the room changes when it’s on. Quiet and nice stream of cool “steam”.
We just ordered our sixth one; these are good little diffusers for the money. We had two that were damaged during a flood, and we replaced them once we moved back into our house. We purchased one for a niece; she uses it often and likes it. We currently use these in our bedrooms, and the only reason we are ordered more is that we are tired of moving them when we want to freshen up the other rooms of the house. We really don’t care for the light feature; we would rather it just remain neutral. It’s irritating when you have to click through all the colors to turn it off if you accidentally turn on the lights. But the diffuser works well. We mostly use them to freshen up a room or when we don’t feel well (sinuses or other respiratory illnesses), and they are very helpful. We recommend this product, and if we decide we need another we will purchase again.
We live in an older house with sometimes strange smells, and was looking for a small and cheap essential oil diffuser to put on our bedside. So far, this one does the trick. There are two buttons on the side: one for changing the light, and one for turning the mist on and off. In order to turn the mist off though, you ll need to press the button twice. Also, the light needs to be pressed through all of the different colors before it turns off completely. This can get a little annoying sometimes. It stays on each light for about five seconds, and includes blue, purple, white, orange, yellow, and green (in that order. ). If you have a bigger room, we would recommend getting a larger size, otherwise you won t smell any of the essential oils. Otherwise, we really liked the size. It fits perfectly on top of our small table and doesn t take up much room. We can also put some things on top of it if we need to (we found that it s sturdy enough for a small glass. ) one other thing we found though is that sometimes it can be hard to screw the top on an off the base. If you push it all the way in without turning it, you ll have a harder time taking it off later to replace the oils.
Excellent product. Great value and exactly what you want it to do. Things we like:1. Easy set up, just open the top, pour water, add 5 drops of your fave essential oil, put the top back on and push the button. 2. Scent release has two options, continuous release or every 30 seconds. 3. The size-smaller than the size of a ventwe starbucks cup. Put it by your bed, enough for you and your partner to enjoy it. 4. Lights-3 options: no light, changing lights, or an option to choose from about 10 different color options. Colors are soft and gentle if you want to keep it on before falling asleep. The only item that we noticed is the button label smudged off after using it for a week, but considering that you only have 2 buttons to work with, we don’t think it’s a big deal.
We just recently received our diffuser and am very pleased with it. The first time we used it we happened to hook it up near the air conditioner air exchange and later realized our whole house smelled fantastic because the ac air uptake was circulating the mist from the diffuser. Since our original reason for making this purchase was to purify the air of airborne contaminants inside our home, we had added a mixture of essential oils recommended for that purpose, including peppermint, lemon, and a few drops each of tea tree, frankincense, and geranium that we had on hand. Later we moved the diffuser into the bedroom and replaced those oils with just lemon and lavender oils for the night. We have severe allergies and the diffused oils don’t bother us at all, unlike commercial air fresheners, candles, many cleaning products. It maybe just a placebo effect, but the air now does feel cleansed and more like fresh air. As a matter of fact, we are so pleased with this product, we plan on buying more of this model for our kitchen and bathrooms to purify the air in those rooms daily without having to move this one we just bought from room to room. Great quality product, excellent seller.
We have purchased one of these for every room in our house. At first, we were hesitant because some people posted that theirs didn’t diffuse very much. If that happens to you send it back. We have purchased 7 total. We started off with 2 to make sure that they worked. We used them for months before purchasing one for every room in our house. Our daughter has overfilled them multiple times. Our son has pulled the cord and knocked one down and it stopped working for a day, but we dried it out and it works again. Our point is that for the price you cannot beat it. We love the nightlights built in. Our kids love how they can go on one solid color or change. We ordered 4 more and one of them we noticed didn’t diffuse very good like people said. So we hit return and literally the next day the mailman had a replacement for us. So the seller is amazing. Again, if yours isn’t diffusing very well, then you have a dud and send it back. They all aren’t like that. A tip that helps them circulate more: we noticed the fans are on the bottom and that hinders the airflow significantly. If you put yours on a grate type stand or something that will allow more airflow underneath, it produces more. We will always buy these diffusers.
We had high expectations for this diffuser as it was highly recommended. However, it doesn’t seem to put out enough “mist” to really circulate our room. The room we have this diffuser in is quite small so we figured this would be perfect. We are going to eventually move this to our bathroom in hopes of a better outcome. We will not purchase another one of these. *side note and update* after we wrote this review we were contacted by the company and asked if we would try another diffuser to see if we liked it better. The new diffuser works great in the space we want to use it. The mist comes out better than the last and it s very pretty. Our daughter has been begging us to buy the same one for her room. We will be buying more of these for our house.
