Our Insights:

See our insights (based on our own experience after purchasing and using the product, or based on some research work) on OCuSOFT Hypochlor Hypochlorous Acid Solution Spray, these might be useful for better understanding.

: we have suffered with demodex infestation for two years, took ivermectin & metronidazole (they helped) but this was a god send. We bought it out of frustration that nothing was working and buyers recommeded it. We would never heard of it, we didn’t hold our breath. But omg, after just two days our skin is finally returning to normal. Our eyebrows had disappeared, buried under all the demodex biofilm & they are returning. We haven t been this hopeful in two years. Tea tree oil was worthless for us. Was for us, but this simple solution – wow. We just bought a larger container. So worth it.

We were recently informed by an ophthalmologist that we have mgd. (the little oil glands in our eyes are pumping out inferior product. ) one initial stye, way more many hot compresses than we should have done, we don’t even know how many styes after that, three antibiotics, and the entire five stages of grief later. He finally suggested avenova or this otc product. We chose this one and we are so glad that we did. By the time we got our hands on this product, we only had one smaller stye on one eye and a swollen upper lid on our other eye which was the beginning of a chalazion. Within one day, the smaller stye burst and the upper lid had become more localized swelling where the infection was instead of the whole lid. We have been using this sort of like you would bactine on a cut. Other than the already stated cleansing directions, we held a clean q-tip to the nozzle spray and dabbed where the stye burst as well as the meibomian gland area where the chalazion is. This prevented our usual pattern of oozing when they broke and it healed up fast. It’s been two days and the chalazion continues to shrink. Since we are also hesitant to do expressions after hot compresses, we have found that the q-tip method over our meibomian glands gets rid of the sort of visible meibomian glands. If that makes any sense. This cleanser (along with not overdoing it on the hot compresses) is amazing and we would recommend it to anyone with similar problems.

Seems to work as well as the overpriced hypochlorous acid. Per our optometrist’s instructions, we pour a small amount into the cap, dip a clean q-tip into it, and wipe one of the 4 eyelids with it. We then dip the other unused end into the cap and repeat on the next eyelid. Then we use another clean q-tip on the other eye with the same process and then return any unused, clean hypochlorous acid back to the bottle. This saves chemical and seems to be effective at cleaning the lids.

For years we thought we had disgusting styes that never went away. Finally found out we have blepharitis. After so much time with unsightly eyelid issues, this stuff cleared up the problem within a couple weeks. Also helped with our dry eyes and everything else that goes with blepharitis. Am so glad an eye doctor recommended this product.

We love this stuff. Just ordered our third bottle. We have eyelash extensions which we felt we needed after all our eyelashes fell out. We also get these crazy thick eyebrow hairs that hurt at the root and this stuff has helped more than any cliradex or anything else we have tried. All of the gaps in our lashline have filled in. “pimples?” we could not get rid of are gone. We use it as a spray regularly, but also use it to debride the white crusty crap that those little buggers leave behind on our lash line and even our lashes. Gets rid of the itchies and, . It does not affect my extensions. Woo hoo. We used to use cotton swabs but the cotton fibers would pull our lashes out or get stuck and bother us all day. We switched to a soft makeup brush and no more problems. We began using it for other things, such as our lip line, ears, and dry spots or age spots and it has helped everything. There is never any irritation and it is not perfumed or scented. If it has any fragrance at all, we would say it is a very very faint bleach smell. We use it before the lash wash and then our lashes are squeaky clean but still intact. We haven’t tried it yet for cuts or anything like thaat but bet it would be great. Seller is great, too; we had a problem with our first order and they resolved it fast and easy. Can’t go wrong with this item.

So grateful to have found this. We were using another brand (prescription). This year our insurance decided they would not pay for it any longer. We did some research and found this similar product and it does just as well. It is less expensive than the prescription brand by about sixty dollars.

So glad we found this product. Works just as well, if not better, for our blepharitis than the $100 name brand avenova that our dr recommended. We can’t believe how quickly our swelling and itching went away. We use it in the morning and night and it keeps our eyes so healthy. Will definitely be purchasing again and again.

We went for our annual eye exam-our dr recommend this product. Weeks before we though we caught a rash around our eyes from traveling. Turns out it was blepharitis. A mild case-but the buggers gave us small pimples. This has worked from the initial use. Also helped with mild rosacea on our nose. Only after a couple of days our skin looks better than it has in years. Will update in a month or so.

Fighting demodex on our eyelashes has been hell for us. We have researched, wasted time, and wasted too much money. We finally stumbled upon research stating hocl was just as good, if not better in some cases, as tea tree oil. So we bought this because this is the cheapest and the highest concentration. The key is to clean your eyelids first to get rid of any oils (we read that on their site). Then, you can either use a saturated q-tip and scrub the base of your lashes, or just spray a cotton pad and wipe back and forth on each lid several times. Needless to say, it has worked. We have done this twice a day, and we are extremely happy. This is the best purchase ever. We will continue to buy this product, but as an fyi, you can buy the lower concentration in the pet section that has the same ingredients.

We see where several people have stated this is like applying bleach or chlorine to your eyes with much irritation. In our case at least, this is just not true and we hate to see people steer away from this solution (like we almost did) when they read that. While we suppose it is possible that some people get irritation from this (and yes, some people are allergic to peanuts as well) we think that is a very small minority. We have had irritation from some eye products but this is not one of them. We apply it by spraying it into the palm of our hand (after washing) and using a clean qtip to gently wipe it across our eyelids from side to side. No irritation and it does seem to help with the crustiness, and general fairly severe symtoms of our blepharitis. And our eyes feel significantly better immediately after using this. It does have a very slight bleach smell but again, we experienced no irritation. Do not let those reviews discourage you – we are glad we didn’t.

This lid cleaner was recommended by our ophthalmologist to prevent another stye. We bought the first bottle from him. We spray a cotton round four times and wipe both lids with it. It does not sting our eyes like the wipes do. We like that we don’t have to rinse our eyes after using it. So far, after seven months of use, we have not had another stye.

We stopped buying avenova after we found this. It appears to be the exact same thing, but cheaper and non prescription. It has definitely lessened by blepharitis for sure.

Wash face and eyelids. Dry. Close eyes, spray eyelids,. Gently rub into lashline and eyelids (eyebrows too if have blepharitis or see ‘dandruff’): tops and bottoms. Use morning and evening. Spraying directly on eyelids is much faster and easier, just keep eyes closed and gently rub in. Microscopic bugs (and yeasts) normally live on our skin (gross. ) but for unknown reasons, some of us get an overgrowth. The bugs feed on our skin oil and dead skin cells which is why it is very important for us to wash twice/day. The debris from them falls into our eyes from our eyelids and eyelashes and irritates our eyes. Soap does not kill these bugs, but this stuff (hypochlorous acid) kills them. We use hypochlorous acid spray all over our face and on our scalp to manage rosacea and so-called dandruff (caused by malassezia furfur fungus/yeast — this is much gentler than dandruff shampoos and does not strip hair dye).

This product has the highest percent of solution that we can find. We do not spray it, we dip a cotton tip (q-tip) into the bottle and swipe along the eye margins, changing the side of the q-tip for each eye. This calms the inflammation and cleans the lids of bacteria. It does not seem to moisturize or cleanse as well as other ocusoft products, so we use both this and the foam cleanser. We trust this company for the best usa-available eye cleansers.

This stuff works. Easiest way to apply without wasting any of the spray is to spray about 3 sprays inside the cap, then dip a q-tip into the solution and spread along lashes and into the tear ducts. Definitely makes a difference.

We suffer from chronic blepheritis and use several methods to keep it under control. These include cleaning with baby shampoo or ocusoft scrubs, antibiotics and warm compresses on the eye lids. Our doctor recommended this product for cleaning the eye lids and the rims. First, it is much easier than other cleaning methods as no rinsing is necessary. Also, it was not as abrasive as the scrubs. Second, and most important, by daily use of this product, we were able to eliminate all other methods of controlling our condition. Very satisfied with the product.

The doctor prescribed avenova because it’s touted to be a non-irritating bleach, but it wasn’t covered by insurance and was going to cost a few hundred dollars, which was ridiculous for something that wouldn’t keep beyond 30 days after first use. So we found ocusoft hypochlor, and it was cheap enough to give it a try — we smelled the bleach and all, but found it to be totally non-irritating. Not sure of its efficacy, because the problem was resolving on its own by the time we got it, but at least it seems safe to use on the eyelids.

This product was recommended by our ophthalmologist for daily eyelid maintenance. After washing with johnson’s baby shampoo and drying our eyelids, we give one spritz of ocusoft to each eyelid (eyes closed) holding the bottle about 5-6 inches away. There is less waste that way instead of spraying it onto a cotton pad. The spray is soothing to cheeks especially if you have rosacea; we spary it on our face too.

While some other reviewers on or other sites indicate this irritates eyelids, we have not found it to do so and other than it being (like all other spray-based eyelid/lash cleaners) somewhat awkward to use on a cotton round or cotton-tipped applicator, it does its job well. Another similar product used to be available for a reasonable price as otc from , but they went “upscale” and got fda approval to issue their spray as prescription. Our insurance covered that $300 charge for just one month, then our part d insurance changed, and we are unwilling to pay even a discounted (with $35 coupon) price of well over $240 for the other spray that lasts only 30 days before turning into simple saline. The ocusoft product lasts, once opened, until the bottle is finished. So if you can tolerate miniscule amounts of preservatives for a once or max twice a day use, ocusoft hypochlor 0. 02% hypochlorous acid eye lid wipe/spray is the route to take to maintain eye health in the face of severe dry eye.

Same as the prescription version, if you have eye issues and need this, you know how much money it can be with getting from your doctor. Get with sterile qtips and you re set. Recommend the wipes too as a less intensive substitute when detailed cleaning isn’t needed. Some people might have you scared as the manufacturing chemistry is different than prescription, but do your research and you ll be able to deduce whether this is right for you or if you know better than modern chemistry / doctors (not the strip mall optometrists making $ selling you the expensive version).
