Note that 0.7 g of baking soda increases the molar concentration of sodium by only 0.02, which is negligible.

Hi Reggie. we checked our pkg and the expiration date in February, 2016. So we would say the expiry date will be about 2 years. And since each packet is sealed it will probably last longer.

Keep a back up bottle so that you can switch them out regularly while the other dries completely.
How Often Do You Need To Replace The Filter?
Mine doesn’t have afilter
See our insights (based on our own experience after purchasing and using the product, or based on some research work) on SinuCleanse Pre-Mixed Saline Packets – All-Natural Pharmaceutical Grade, these might be useful for better understanding.
We are long-time netwe pot user. A friend of mine who is a doctor recommended we use one to help with our year-around allergies. The problem with using a netwe pot is that it can be slow and if you’re congested or blocked up with lots of mucous, the netwe pot just won’t work since gravity alone does not provide enough force to push the solution through the mucous and swollen membranes in your nose and sinuses. We stumbled across the sinucleanse while looking for the replacement saline packets for our netwe pot. We thought we would give it a try because it does not require using distilled water which, for us, was a big hassle. According to the manufacturer, the built-in filter meets cdc recommendations for nasal washing with tap water. It is so much more convenient than the netwe pot. This is a fantastic device and we can say it has improved the quality of our life by greatly reducing or often completely eliminating our allergy symptoms by using this once or twice a day. We will also use it an extra time after we have been mowing the lawn, gardening, working where it is dusty etc. With the flexible bottle this device uses, it allows you to use just the right amount of pressure to provide for a comfortable cleansing of the nose and sinuses. We also use this device when we get a cold and can say that it has reduced the length of illness and severity of symptoms. We will use the sinucleanse more often when we have a cold. We have also found that in the several years we have been using a netwe pot or this device that we have gotten fewer colds. We could be a salesman for sinucleanse or netwe pots and may sound like one from the preceding review, but nasal irrigation has worked very well for us by significantly reducing our allergy and cold symptoms.
We are regular netwe pot user, and we have tried a number of different saline solutions. We find that they’re all pretty much the same. We even used to mix our own with the 3-1 ratio of salt (sodium chloride) to baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). Here’s why we chose these and continue to use them:1) they work. They’re properly manufactured with the 3-1 ratio. The contents dissolve easily when we put it into the netwe pot & add water. 2) they’re well priced. They’re a little less expensive than some other brands (with even more savings through the subscribe & save program) and give a somewhat greater volume per packet. (thus the complaints from some reviewers that they’re too strong. Just dilute more if you need to. )3) they are convenient in a number of ways. Not having to mix our own and having the pre-measured packets is a convenience. If we order once, prime delivery is a convenience. If we need a reminder to order more and get even more savings, getting them auto-delivered through subscribe & save is. Well, you get the idea.
Since using this saline rinse (in a neil med squeeze bottle) we have had significantly less sinus infections. Only important note is, take notice of the size of your netwe pot. Our old pot was only 6 oz not 8 oz, so concentration wasn’t right and burned when we rinsed. Just make sure you have the right mixture formula.
Its taken us a while to get to this review, first off we love this solution. We have migraines and our sinuses are really sensitive and will trigger one when we don’t take care of them, especially in winter when our furnace runs a lot. We have a hot water pot in our bedroom to help but since using this solution on a regular basis our migraines that are directly related to our sinus issues have become far less in number. Quite often when we wake up and our sinuses hurt and we feel a headache coming on we will make a hypertonic solution with lukewarm water and slowly irrigate our sinuses and we find most of the times the headache goes away before it becomes a migraine and our sinuses feel so much better. We are comfortable saying we are at a lifetime low on migraines and plan on using this product for the rest of our life. We weren’t paid for this review and we didnt get a discount.
We have used these filtered type bottles for a while now, and started ordered them once they became less common at the drug store. A lot easier to operate than bottles that fire upward, and they kind of make you naturally tilt your head like you should. Biggest issue is the lil white gasket you ll notice while you clean the main bottle. If you give too much pressure, on a good bottle, it might blow out some excess pressure and saline water on your hand or face. On a bad one, that whole gasket may pop clean out and never fit back in place. Seems to happen every second or third one we get, which is unfortunate.
We wish the packets were narrow for easy pouring into a bottle, as they are air-tight so ripping the corner and shaking makes a mess. Good alternative to neilmed, slighty saltier, perhaps, or a little harsher, but we were accustomed to neilmed and could adjust to the new one easily. The packaging annoys us so we will go back to neilmed. Update: we have been using these for a year now and figured out how to tear the corner just so to avoid spills (start in the long end and rip up to avoid making it too big). We have noticed that the water quality really makes a huge difference in rinsing. Ever tried snorting water without salt?- ouch. So now we have adjusted to these and will continue to restock since these are just as good as neilmed.
The sinucleanse micro filter. Nasal rinse bottle works so much better than the other one we used to have with the black cap. This is a very effective design, and clears the nasal passages thoroughly. We still use distilled water for our rinse, don t want to take any chances, and you have to have a microwave handy to warm the water in the bottle, built very good, make sure black rubber gasket is up around neck of top, or else the top will not screw on tightly and it will leak. We use it once a day to help us fight allergies and sinus infections. Works great.
Tried to make our own sinus cleanser but it just didn’t have the “comfort level” that this product does. The ratios of the ingredients must have been carefully formulated because there is no discomfort for us when using this preparation. We will make whatever we can at home but in this instance we prefer to buy this preparation.
We have had head and neck cancer. We need to rinse our nasal passages and sinuses regularly to prevent infection to the affected area. Using pharmaceutical grade saline (sinu cleanse) and distilled water (must be distilled as tap water is filled with chemicals that can cause infection) is necessary to maintain good sino nasal cleanliness.
We will be the first to admit that this is awkward as heck when you first use it. The stuff hits the back of your throat, your eyes water, you gag, and it seems impossible to breathe while you squirt stuff up your nose. But it helps you breathe when nothing else will. Totally worth it. We have good luck tilting our head sideways, rolling our eyes up at the ceiling, and breathing slowly through our mouth like a dog drooling over a ham in slow motion. We must look like an utter moron, but that moment when you can finally blow the stuff out of your sinuses? that’s a kind of magic that only the stuffed can appreciate.
Our husband has struggled with dry/irritated nose complications for months at this point. We randomlybought this for him, in hopes of it providing him *some* sort of relief. And he loves it. He said he can breathe normally for the first time in months. We definitely recommend this productwell our husband does, for sure.
We use these with a ceramic netwe pot. We fill the netwe pot with a little bit of distilled water, pour the saline packet in, fill the rest of the netwe pot with distilled water, microwave for 30 seconds, and we are good to go. We think these packets are very convenient and easy to use with our netwe pot. aromatic salt premium ceramic netwe pot, green.
We have horrible sinus problems. For years we have had to take medication, which caused liver problems. Started using this once a night for a year now and we don t need to take the sinus meds. It takes a few times to get the hang of it, but absolutely worth it. We had issues with sinus infections almost every other month, and now, we have had one small cold that lasted two-days. Cannot believe we didn’t know of this. Thank you.
This is our second nasal lavage, but wish we would bought it first. This is the one to use. No special water, just add warm tap water and use.
We really like the sinucleanse – helps with allergies and hay fever. Had ordered the sinucleanse 100-packet refill which we had ordered twice before with no problems. Received the sinucleanse neti-pot and 30 packets. Did not realize the problem until today when worked through the packets and found the box was mainly the neti-pot. Too late to return to . Just noticed that somebody had stuck another bar code label on this box that showed (incorrectly) that it was the 100 packet of refills.
We have had this strange fear of using netwe pots in the past because of not wanting to get water in our ears. Without the need to tilt our head to the side this design made it so much easier to use. We have noticed our allergies are far more manageable with continuous use of this, and it makes using our nasal spray afterwards so much more effective. The after taste/smell is taking a little getting used to, but the benefits far outweigh all of that.
Good product. We bought it so we could keep our sinus rinse bottle on the bathroom. We don’t fully trust the filter. We used a zerowater tds reader and it wasn’t where we thought it should be. However, our solution is that we use a little hot tap water and fill the bottle with purified water. This should allow the filter to last longer too. Also, using it this way feels great. No burning. So, we are very happy and will be purchasing this again.
First, they do what they are supposed to do. They add the salt and baking soda to the water. These are not as easy to pour as the name brand is. Minor nit, maybe, but just something to be aware of. These you cut a corner off, and pour it in. The name brand you cut the end off, and the packet fits into the neck of the bottle, making it easier to dump without spilling the salt on the counter.
This saline rinse powder is the exact same formula than neilmed, but for a much better price. Plus this also has a subscribe and save option. It is made in the usa and works well. We use along with the neilmed reusable bottle. The only slight downside is that the square packing makes it slightly more difficult to pour into the bottle compared to the neilmed round package design.
We bought the nasal rinse, and this box of 100 pre filled rinses. They do the job in your nose, which is clearing out the sinuses. The plus is the cost for the amount. Most sinus rinse products cost an arm and a leg for the packets for the product, but these are well worth it.
