This is how to clean:Block the hole on one end (we use saran wrap and rubber band) then fill with salt and then the alcohol, then blocking the hole with your finger or using saran wrap pulled tight across a few time then secured with a rubber band, shake it vigorously for a few minutes. The salt helps to scrub away the residue. After it is cleaned well with salt/alcohol mixture, use hot water to rinse it out very well. Before rinsing we also use something to scrape away any little bits of residue that didn’t come off with the salt/alcohol cleaning (we use turkey pin or bamboo skewer.) Then rinse out very well using hot water. Then you can air dry, but we don’t always want to air dry, so when we need to dry it right away we cut a strong paper towel strip or even thin strips of cloth. we also sew a little sord at tge top of cloth so we can pull out if can’t get top of cloth. Then we thread the cloth into the hole by twisting the cloth to wind down it down inside. Be careful not to let the very end of cloth go inside as you will need to pull it out. Carefully try to twist around the cloth to dry the inside then pull out. If done right it should work to completely dry it quickly. Well hope that helps you keep it clean.

(Personal experience.) we would strongly recommend caution using these for any other purpose than what they were intended for; and also strongly recommend purchasing a grooming aid that was indeed intended for cat grooming.we don’t know how helpful this response might prove to be, and further suggest that the person asking the question to use their best judgement.Tony

Our Insights:

See our insights (based on our own experience after purchasing and using the product, or based on some research work) on Zen Bundles Zen Pipe Cleaners Hard Bristle, these might be useful for better understanding.

Be sure to pay attention to the description. These are “hard bristled” pipe cleaners. They’re what we were looking for, but some purchasers may not pay attention to this, thinking they are typical soft type pipe cleaners. These are also only 6 inches long. Most pipe cleaners you buy at some stores are the 10-12 inch long type, and are often used for crafting projects. These are genuine pipe cleaners not arts and crafts pipe cleaners.

Super-great quality. This is the first time we have found pipe cleaners with actual metal bristles mixed in, and they make all the difference. They clean with one or two passes instead of four times that many. Highly recommended. Great for getting down in those tight and hard-to-clean spaces. Fair warning: takes a little bit of handling to get used to them and not jab yourself. >:o).

These hard bristle pipe cleaners work wonders on plastic cup straws that our 90 year-old mother uses daily. Before, we had a lot of trouble getting them clean and would just go out and buy a new cup set. Now, with these hard bristle pipe cleaners, the straws are easy to clean in a flash. Only drawback is we have to put tape around the one end of the pipe cleaner since it’s bristles hurt our fingers. Would be nice if they had a plastic coating at one end to eliminate that problem.

These are great for cleaning more than pipes, we don’t smoke, but we do clean many other things with these. We needed something that would clean between metal discs on a tools, nozzles of all sorts, sprayers that are stopped up and those places where even an old toothbrush can’t get, like under the mounting fittings for plumbing fixtures. We have used them on cake decorator tips, and to get to places in our sewing machines that brushes won’t go. These are great to have around the house.

There was a time you could get these anytime and anyplace. Now and other mail order businesses are good source. We use these for cleaning passages in car parts. They have the scrubbing bristles that remove tough deposits and they are tough enough to resist cleaning solvents. They are much better than the “chenille straws” sold at craft and hobby stores.

We got these to use to clean civil war re-enacting rifles and pistols. The cleaners are the correct size for cleaning the percussion nipples. With other zen cleaners we have been able to cut them into shorter lengths and have three or four short cleaners per pipe cleaner. The inner wire on these doesn’t seem to cut as smoothly so we only get the two ends to work with. Good cleaners but not as economical as being able to cut several short cleaners from each one.

Works awesome with pax vaporizers. Fits perfectly and it does not hurt your hands when you grip them like some others do when you try to clean. Of course, it’s not a toy so do not make arts & crafts but it’s great for professional use. We do recommend.

First off: these are pipe cleaners designed for cleaning a smoking pipe, not a craft item. A when used as intended, and not as something handed out to elementary school children for a project, they do the job. They have little plastic bristles amongst the cotton, to scrub. Like most pipe cleaners, they do bend fairly easily, so we have had some difficulty in cleaning a bent style pipe stem, but that happens. Not a design flaw. Other than that, they’re a pipe cleaner. What else is there to say? yes, we would buy more, as needed.

These pipe cleaners are exactly as advertised. An excellent product; however, when they say “hard bristle” they mean harrrrd bristle. It’s almost like handling a vine with thorns. We never knew they made pipe cleaners like this. We are very pleased with them, but we are also going to order pipe cleaners with softer bristles. We use them for an occasional cleaning of aquarium tubing and oxygen tubing (cannula), and also for cleaning in the crevices around the keys on our keyboards when compressed air won’t dislodge the dirt.

As advertised, and delivered quickly. These are the real deal with hard scrubbing bristles interspersed in the absorbent stem. These are not generic chenille stems for arts & crafts; these are made to clean your pipe.

The bristles are rougher than any other pipe cleaner we have ever used, and they clean very well.

These are perfect for cleaning the pax variety of vaporizers. The slightly pokey material is perfect for scrubbing away sticky resin. And because so many come in a pack, and reasonably priced, we are cleaning the units more frequently which results in a nicer tasting vaporizer. Highly recommend for cleaning, not crafting.

This review is for zen bundles zen pipe cleaners hard bristle, 132 count. As noted in the description, these are hard bristles. We had intended to use them inside home made masks to form the mask’s nose bridge. Unfortunately the bristles are so hard, they poke through both layers of the cloth material used to create the mask. The wire used is sturdy but bendable, and had the bristles been just a bit softer it would have worked out great for our purposes.

We ordered these for making face masks. We were a little frustrated that they had lots of little bits poking out. Even with our fabric folded over a couple time they still tend to poke our nose. They are shorter than most pipe cleaners we have seen but since we were using them in masks the shortness was a plus. Overall we were satisfied with them. We were able to make 132 masks. We just wish that they had been softer.

Exactly what was ordered. These are the best pipe cleaners to use for your various glass pieces, imo. We pair these with 91% isopropyl alcohol and salt. Nothing can stand in the way of herbal cleanliness when using the trifecta.

These pipe cleaners are really thorny feels like holding a rose be very careful with these we cannot use them for what we bought them for because of this but it does state and the description that the bristles are hard but we didn’t realize that they were be scratchy and thorny until we receive them.

These little cleaners work like a dream. They are incredibly tough bristles that scrape away any grime you could possibly have, regardless of what you happen to be using them to clean. We have tried using them to clean both traditional and glass pipes, and they work wonders. For the price and amount of cleaners you get, you would be crazy not to give these a try.

Not bad, but they fall apart quite easily. If you’re using these to clean a briar or meerschaum pipe, they only work for about one or two times before degrading into wire and fluff. Aside from that, good quality. We might buy again if we are in desperate need, but otherwise it seems more sensible to buy higher quality, more expensive pipe cleaners. Item was as described. Nice bristles and good amount of cotton fluff. Shipping was much faster than expected.

These are very good at cleaning our pipe. We recommend wearing gloves while using them because there are metal spikes that help catch debris in the pipe that could hurt your fingers. Altogether, we recommend.

We used these to dry the interior of the copper straws that came with ourĀ set of 2 premium moscow mule copper mugs. Optimis series a hammered barrel mugs are great for any cold drink & include copper straws, storage bags, and an ebook with recipes, care instructions, & moreĀ and they work very well. After we rinse them out we use these to dry the interior and we don’t see any oxidation forming.
